Problem: The BAM education department was seeking traditional clinical support for participants in 2 after school programs in response to heightened mental health needs.
Solution: Kendall worked with program staff and teaching artists to asses, affirm and reframe existing wellness strategies. She helped us understand that the traditional approach was not sustainable with the amount of staff that were available.
Kendall provided weekly therapy for teaching artists to sort through anxieties and to plan for upcoming wellness benchmarks. Together they implemented grounding exercises and she facilitated workshops and mini group counseling sessions with students implementing wellness into existing curriculum.
“It is so refreshing and inspiring to have ANY healthcare professional value, honor, and center holistic practices and acknowledge the whole person (mind, body, spirit, experiences). Kendall is one of the most powerful and effective practitioners in the field!”
— Ava Kinsey, Director of Education
I’d say I’ve seen growth in myself in my mental health practices/sources of wellness and maintaining self awareness.

“Working with Kendall was a transformative process personally and professionally. She affirmed and gave language that built my confidence as a teacher in a way that helped me see that I was already doing wellness activities. She trained me to support the wellness for the students while providing one on ones and in-class lessons that illuminated wellness principles. She was a job to work with and I always looked forward to our weekly check ins which was a safe space to vent, process and plan for upcoming lessons.”— L.W.
Kendall was sought out to facilitate a workshop on behalf of The New York City Arts in Education Roundtable in regards to its upcoming Day of Learning: Radical (Re)Imagining for an Inclusive Future at Museum of the City of New York. This day-long symposia featured a mix of panels and workshops around the topic of radical reimagining of systems, structures, and practices to support improved equity and inclusion in the field of arts education..
“She was wonderful, joyful, profound. She facilitated a healing, helpful, supportive, and accessible space. Great listener.”
